Staff Bios

John E. Barnett (President) has over thirty years of marketing and management experience in the construction, environmental and laboratory industries. Mr. Barnett joined QuanTEM 15 years ago and through diligent focus on growth has built QuanTEM into the premier testing laboratory it is today. His successes at QuanTEM include expansion of laboratory services to include most Indoor Environmental Quality concerns, promoting training courses for the education of environmental professionals, and insisting on excellent customer service throughout the organization. His varied experience includes hazardous materials site testing, assessment, and remediation, business ownership and executive level business management.


Jeff Mlekush (Vice President) has over fourteen years of experience in asbestos, lead, industrial hygiene and indoor air quality. He joined QuanTEM in March 2000. He has a Geology degree from the University of New Mexico and a Master of Business Administration from Oklahoma Christian University. Prior to joining QuanTEM Laboratories, Mr. Mlekush was the Senior Project Manager for Acme Environmental, Inc., an environmental training and consulting firm in Albuquerque, New Mexico. He was also the Asbestos/Industrial Hygiene Manager for Assaigai Analytical Laboratories, Inc., an analytical laboratory and industrial hygiene firm in New Mexico and Texas.


Todd Jelinek (Microbiology Laboratory Manager) has over fourteen years experience. He joined QuanTEM in November 2005. He has a BS/BA in Microbiology from South Dakota State University. Prior to QuanTEM, Todd served as Head of Microbiology and Operations Manager for Analytical Research Laboratories, worked on Infectious Disease Research for Oklahoma University Health Sciences Center, was a Research Associate at Genzyme Glycobiology Research Institute, and was a business partner at Wilkins Environmental Consulting and Laboratories. Mr. Jelinek's current responsibilities for QuanTEM Laboratories, LLC as Lead microbiological analyst are daily analyses of direct examination and culture-based samples including quality control analyses. As QuanTEM's Quality Assurance Coordinator for the microbiology department, he is also responsible for all departmental QA/QC.


Eric Caves is the Metals Analyst for QuanTEM Laboratories' Environmental Chemistry Department. Eric brings over eight years of laboratory experience to QuanTEM. He has a Chemistry degree from the University of Central Oklahoma and graduate coursework at Oklahoma State University. Previously, Mr. Caves worked for the Oklahoma Department of Agriculture, the Brody School of Medicine, and Oklahoma State University. An expert in Metals analysis, Eric is dedicated to providing our clients with the highest standard of service available in the industry.


Joann Brunnert is the head of QuanTEM's accounting, purchasing and collections departments. Joann is highly skilled in cash management, forecasting and budgeting. She has been with QuanTEM for over 10 years.





Barbara Holder has been with QuanTEM since October 2004 as our Customer Relations Manager. Barbara plays an active supervisory role with all customer interactions with QuanTEM. She oversees the flow of samples coming in to the lab as well as all reports being sent to our clients. Prior to Barbara coming to QuanTEM, she was the Lab Support Coordinator for hospitals in Chicago, IL and Ft. Smith AR. She worked in QA, billing and was responsible for the overall flow and efficiency with all inner-office and external hospital communication.
